ICCARS help to save people's homes in Suffolk.
Ipswich
County Court Advice and Representation Service (ICCARS)
is a registered charity that operates a free duty advice and representation
service at Ipswich County Court for housing possession hearings which are
heard on a Tuesday morning. We can help with both rental and mortgage possession
cases. The duty service is staffed by volunteers including local solicitors,
welfare rights officers and housing advisers. All the volunteers have some
experience of defending possession proceedings and housing advice.
We offer advice to try to help you save your home and will represent you
at your hearing if you want us to. However, we will only have a very short
time to see you on the day, so we strongly advise you to
get some advice before the day of your hearing.

help.
We can not guarantee that there will always be an ICCARS volunteer available
for every day that hearings are listed so it is very important that you
have had some advice before you get to the court.
If you want
to see the ICCARS duty worker it is important that you attend the court
at least 15 minutes before the time of your summons. It is also very useful
for you to bring all the paperwork you may have relating to your situation.
This will help us to help you.
After your hearing the adviser may arrange to do some follow up work with
you, or may offer you some suggestions as to how you can get further help
– for instance, you may need help with debt advice, or with a problem
to do with benefits or Tax Credits.
ICCARS
are totally independent from Ipswich County Court but are working with
the full co-operation of the County Court and the District Judges.
